Training workshop on Social Security and Unemployment Insurance for representatives of Employers, Managers and Workers in the Private Sector will take place in Bahir Dar (Amhara Region), Ethiopia on April 5, 2023. The workshop is organized by the Confederation of Ethiopian Employers’ Federations (CEEF) with technical and financial assistance from the SP&PFM project.
Workshop objectives
- To provide information and create awareness on the extension of social security coverage in Ethiopia.
- To share information and raise awareness on unemployment insurance (UI) scheme in Ethiopia for consideration within the overall social protection system.
Expected outcomes
- Extension of social security coverage and unemployment insurance schemes in the socio-economic context of the country is discussed.
- Key advocacy areas are outlined for a development of CEEF’s position paper on the extension of social security coverage and establishment of unemployment insurance.
- Compliance of employers to social insurance contributions is enhanced, and
- A Technical Working Group is formed as one of the concluding outcomes of the workshop.
Expected participants
Training participants are employers, managers, and workers representatives in Amhara Regional State.
