The EU-funded global programme “Improving Synergies between Social Protection and Public Finance Management” is launching a new project, “Enhancing disability-inclusiveness of social protection system in Kyrgyzstan”.
The project will be implemented by the ILO Decent Work Technical Support Team and Country Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, in partnership with the Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic over the period of twelve months.
The initiative will support the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic to design, cost, implement and monitor effective disability-inclusive social protection schemes and services and increase access to employment opportunities. Partnership with the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic, organizations of persons with disabilities, social partners, social protection departments and Public Employment Services on the local level will be crucial at all stages of its implementation.

Launch event
A virtual event will be held on 24 May 2022 to present and discuss the project. The meeting will be attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic; Ministry of Health; Ministry of Finance; Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan; Employer’s organization: Business Association “JIA”, International Business Council, Suppliers Association, Association of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities, Disabled People Society of Kyrgyzstan and other organizations representing persons with disabilities, Regional and district/city public employment services and social protection departments (local government), UN Agencies, Embassies, representatives of international organizations.
