The Ministry of Social Action, Family and Promotion of Women (MASFAMU) will hold the second multi-sectoral meeting for the elaboration of the social action plan for the operationalisation strategy of the National Policy for Social Action in Angola. The event will take place from 12 to 14 April 2022 at the Hotel Forum in Luanda.

The activity is organised in partnership with the project “Improving synergies between social protection and public finance management in Angola” (SP&PFM), funded by the European Union and implemented by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

The meeting aims to bring together technical staff from different government institutions, civil society organisations and development partners for a process of assessment based on national dialogue to validate the Diagnosis of the Social Protection System and to stimulate the debate on policy recommendations and possible scenarios. This will allow creating the foundation for the Implementation Plan for the National Social Action Policy within the scope of establishing a Social Protection Floor in Angola.

This meeting is part of a series of multi-sectoral dialogues, initiated in the “Multi-sectoral Dialogue Meeting on the National Social Action Policy” on 4-5 May 2021, followed by the “National Meeting for the Dissemination of the National Social Action Policy” on 12 July 2021.

The S&PFM project is aligned with the Presidential Decree N° 37/2 (8 February 2021) of the National Policy for Social Action. Its overall objective is to develop a sustainable social protection system, including a national social protection floor in Angola for progress towards the achievement of target 1.3 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
